Text Contrast
Make sure to use sufficient contrast for text and background colours. If your document has a high level of contrast between text and background, more people can see and use the content.
To find insufficient colour contrast, use the Accessibility Checker in Microsoft word. You can also look for text in your document that’s hard to read or to distinguish from the background.
Use of colour in other ways
Ensure that colour is not the only means of conveying information. People who are blind, have low vision, or are colourblind might miss out on the meaning conveyed by colours alone so use other distinguishing factors too.
Use clear line colours in charts
For people with red green colour blindness, it is important to not have both red and green chart elements (lines, bars or segments). You can easily fix this by changing one of these to an alternative colour.
Pie is not for everyone
Pie charts aren’t great. They can be difficult for those with colour perception issues like red green colour blindness or colour deficiency. Furthermore, imagine trying to match the legends and the slices if you can only see a quarter of the screen at once.
