This is our new beta site for Maidstone Digital Services.

The Transformation and Digital Service team at Maidstone Borough Council, lead on Digital Transformation, Service Design and Commissioning. We work closely with other departments in the council to help them deliver better outcomes for residents.

We are committed to the principles of the Local Digital Declaration, with user needs and service design thinking at the heart of everything we do. We try to work in the open by blogging on this site and sharing our progress through platforms like Pipeline and the LocalGov Digital User research library and are keen to work with other councils and organisations to make services better for our residents.

Our focus is on:

  • Delivering Maidstone’s Digital Strategy
  • Embedding our New ways of working programme
  • Meeting the Local Digital Declaration
  • Delivering the Commissioning and Service Design Strategy (to be published in 2019)

Our work plan is flexible to reflect the changing needs of residents and staff. Our Service Plan objectives for 2019/20 are:

  • Improve the way customers interact with us online by building better, simpler, accessible digital services
  • Help the council be as effective and efficient as possible, by encouraging, innovation, collaboration and new ways of working
  • Promote Service Design and commissioning thinking to ensure we provide user centred services
